Finally Motorola Releases Lollipop Update for Moto G smartphones in India
At last,Motorola has rolled out Lollipop update to Moto G 1st Gen. and 2nd Gen. phones in India starting from 23rd Jan.,2015.

After multiple soak tests,Motorola is directly pushing Android 5.0.2 to the smartphones.

As the Lollipop update will be available over-the-air (OTA), you will automatically get a notification on your phone about the update, however you can also manually look for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

If you own a Moto G 1st Gen. 2013 edition phone,be sure to update Motorola Update Services to the latest version from Google Play Store.

I got to know about the update from the following tweet by Motorola Twitter handle :
I own a Moto G 1st Gen. 2013 edition phone.I had already updated Motorola Update Services on my phone. If you own a Moto G 2014 edition, then you don't have to update the Motorola Update Services app.

Then I checked for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

And voila,Lollipop update was there.

The update is of size 356.5 MB.It is suggested to use data pack or Wifi for the update.

Some screenshots of the phone and updates are here :
